the taste of autumn.... quince is showing up in the market fruit stall...
quince is a cross over between pear and apple, more leaning towards pear but cannot be eaten raw... hence you cook your quince into compote or mouse structure....
you used some on the genoise cake, hence a quince swiss roll... they are really nice and the quince gives the sense of pear and freshness and the genoise roll is soft and yet holds the structure as usual... a quick fix for a weekend cake...
and you also whisked up a cup of dirty chai according to the recipe you acquired from the southern indian dinner. the taste of the tea is almost there but something is still lacking, it could be cinnamon or star anise which she said she didn't use, it could be the assam tea that you don't have at home. either way, you just need to tweak a little bit more than you will be happy with your autumn/winter tea.
today sermon is taken from matthew 25:21 "his lord said to him, ‘well done,
good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, i will
make you ruler over many things. enter into the joy of your lord"
there's a lot of truth in it, if you are good, faithful and responsible in the area of work, financial and dealing with other's riches, you will be the one whom God entrusted to.
have a blessed new week ahead.
