::B::E::R::S::I::H::

i must confess that i love my country and homeland malaysia but i have never passionate about the politics or even pay any attention about the political situation in malaysia.  i have seen a lot of comments going around in facebook about one malaysia but what exactly it means and what it meant to me is really nothing. that's simply because i am on exodus for too long.

since last week i see more and more of my contacts stamping their profile picture with "bersih" and even more changing into something of yellow color or blog about "bersih".  i know what "bersih" means (clean in english) and i also smell a campaign is going on but i am just too busy to ask around or check the news as i settling in my new job. i finally hear the news when it became a headline in the world news and even dutch radio mentioned about the incident of 9th july.

for once i am getting really emotional (another confession) after watching this video clip circulating around in the internet.  o mind! this is my homeland and i have always thought that we malaysians are so munch blessed than our neighboring countries. we are multi-racial society, there are some social unjusts but nothing is as bad as the situation in indonesia.  our government made islam the national religion, yet all the people enjoy the religion freedom to some extend.  as least the malaysia that i know of was a harmony land, a cultural melting pot where during chinese new year, the malay and local tribal friends will visit our open house and likewise we do the same during the hari raya and the gawai (harvest) festival.  but what i saw in the movie clip is shocking and what the police force has done is unbelievable.

during my recent trip home, i had the privilege to hear a sermon at the skyline church kota kinabalu.  the sermon is about the "religious freedom in malaysia" and the pastor with  law education was explaining the constitution of malaysia and going back to basic, to the various articles and educating the congregation about our rights as malaysian and our religion freedom in the country. at the end of the service, the pastor followed the lead of the Holy Spirit and encouraged the congregation to sing the malaysia national anthem.  that was an emotional moment for me, tears falling down my eyes.  i have not sing my country national anthem for years and yet that very sunday morning, i sang it in front of God, in the presence of the Holy Spirit and together with the people presence in the service, pledging that i will pray for malaysia.  my home country, a land that i would eventually return to and call it home again in the near future, although i don't know exactly when.

please say a little prayer for malaysia if you read this far.  pray for the wisdom for the people and the government, pray that the situation will improve, ask God to "bersih" (clean) the land in all areas, above all pray for God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
