it's a bliss to enjoy the summer weekend here. starting the morning with the "by product" of what you have been busy in the kitchen since friday. the two glasses of yogurt or mousse like drink...
with a hint of cherry blossom (sakura)
you are trying out new recipe with the salted sakura flowers that you got from japan. you soak the flower a few rounds in cold water and eventually when it loses its saltiness, you pad it dry ...
and microwave to get the blossom... it's amazing to see the sakura blossoming again in the microwave....
you use it for something else and the leftover you added them to the yogurt mousse drink that you made yesterday, just a petal to get the sakura flavor...
and you drink it like a breakfast yogurt drink, yummy especially the hint of sakura, makes a flowery summer weekend...
and enjoy a slice of quiche that you baked yesterday as a power breakfast because you have a sport day to go, you are going to need the energy for some indoor games...
you spent a few hours at the sport hall, mainly playing table tennis and return home to refresh and rest before you start working in the garden. there is a cost to pay for being away for six months, your garden became a mini jungle. the work of clearing the bushes already started since the beginning of the week but you need to clean up the garden before next saturday...
and while clearing the garden, you got a surprise as you pulled out a bunch of what you think is wild grass but they are actually potatoes... quite a lot of them....
you wonder if they are edible... it probably would after cleaning up the soil...
and now you are enjoying a glass of prosecco and winding down to call it a day, a very good summery saturday indeed...
