japanese ramen (ラーメン), nothing more than just a humble bowl of soup noodles yet ramen is such a fascinating food for most japanese and even for you.  you hardly eat any while you were at tokyo, but you had your portion in hokkaido, an island that is famous for ramen among many other things....

sapporo style ramen is usually rich, heavy and salty and usually come in supersize bowl with lots of noodles in it...
after second try at a different ramen store, you know that sapporo style is not really your bowl of noodles, simply too salty and oily to your liking...

so you turn to hakodate shio ramen (函館塩ラーメン), which is more enjoyable bowl of salt based soup noodles compare to sapporo style miso ramen that you ate before.

at the ramen republic you can taste the best ramen from different regions of hokkaido.

and your very last bowl of ramen is from here, right in kagaruzaka (神楽坂), while deciding what to eat, you finally walk in because you know that once you are back to europe the nearest place to get a bowl of authentic japanese ramen will be dusseldorf, a good 2 hours drive to get there for a bow of expensive ramen.
you are happy with your bowl of spicy ramen, just good to beat the humidity of a june rainny day.... and draw the curtain for your japanese experience.
