concubine.tomb.香.妃.墓

this is back dated to the journey to the west.  this place has a difficult name "apak hoja maza" to remember. you prefer the chinese name 香妃墓 or fragrant concubine's tomb in english.

this part of the western china is definitely a islamic land. almost all places of interest and architecture are associate with this religion.  

you friend brought you here... a little outskirt of kashi/kashgar city but not too far. it was a very hot afternoon...

you couldn't remember the story history anymore, it has to do with a dream of the rich man (or a king?) who dreamed of a fragrant lady.

you are more intrigued by this gate 

the tiles and the towers

the rose garden and the architecture of the complex

than really into the history and the tombs. it is said that altogether seventy two persons from five generations of the same family were buried here. it was built around 1640 ad. and that's all you remember and scribbled in your travel journal while your friend explained to you in excitment.

for you, this is a very tranquil place and a beautiful example of uyghur islamic architecture.
