HE.is.before.all.things

praise the lord!! the procedure went well this morning... it's not as painful as i anticipated.... today i am resting at home, in fact i just woke up from a long hour sleep with the help of the medication... i haven't been sleeping well the last 3 nights not because of the anxiety but because of the warm weather.... now i have to make sure i am fully recovered and ready for the next procedure on friday afternoon. I want to share with you a scripture that touched my heart and gave me the assurance as i am going through all these thing...
Colossians 1:16-17 "For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together"

Please continue to pray for us, pray for thy will be done...

faith.hope.certainty

tomorrow at 0930 i will be going through an experience that is completely new in my life. i know the process is going to be painful but it is a hope that will bring forth life in the future.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
!!please remember me in your prayers!!
i will share with you more once i am in a position to tell the world....

super.sunday

super sunday, another super warm day, in fact today is even warmer than yesterday... after the church service a couple of us decided to dine out at one of the fish restaurants in scheveningen old port...
after the dinner, we walked to the other side of the beach... we manage to sweet talk S that it is only 20 min walk and so she walked with us with her little heels...
the walk way is crowded, full of people and cars in both directions

the ladies joining the crowd...

and the men too!

the beach is almost deserted at this hour, perhaps everyone has enough of their share throughout the day...

and now is the dinner time, terrace and the cafs are filled with crowds at the beach

and also at the promenade

after 30 min walk, we finally reached the kurhaus... we are here for a secret mission *wink*...

and ended up with a rather sinful indulgence, each of us ordered a big glass of ice cream, sweet and rich... thankfully we have slightly more than an hour walk from the old port to the promenade, this should help burning the undesired calories off..

and the sunset, a perfect ending note to an action pack weekend...
have a blessed week ahead...

and.the.feast.continues..

the feast started... the kids started first with their feast at the round table
kids enjoying the fries and other childern friendly food... with the exception of one 'old' boy sneaking fries among the childern

men chatting away while waiting for food

me tug at a corner under the shade and by the water to enjoy the food, whilst kids just wanting to go into the water

and spent almost entire day on the boat or swimming around the lake

then it is time for a boat ride, the captain is unlocking the speedboat

this little boy just couldn't contain his excitment further and waiting eagerly for the engine to start

now almost ready to depart...

off we go....
view taken from the boat, it was a warm afternoon and so the ride did cool me off a little, i couldn't have ask for more really...

it was late for those with kids and so the left over are packed for home... the kampung ladies almost swept the table clean...

the men who stayed behind adjourn to the pier for the men's talk...

the kampung ladies sat at the garden table and continue with the gossip in 3 to 4 languages.. it is funny to hear one sentence that composed out of english, malay, mandarin, cantonese and dutch and worst still hokkien or hakka... but that's the uniqueness of being malaysian quad-lingual

it was not until the sun finally set that we depart for home... in fact this is the first time i met so many malaysians at once. thanked to the facebook that i got connected to them. Y and W have been a great hosts, i couldn't ask for more on their generosity and hospitality. the weather is also perfect for bbq and sitting by the lake side, all in all a great summer weekend full of malaysia's flavors, laughter's and friendship...

turn to the corner and into the main lake

the.feast.is.ready.to.begin

this feast is about a bunch of kampung ladies once upon a time all lived and grew up in different part of Malaysia, all with chinese background but now married to Dutch and called this country their adopted land.

when the ayam kapitan is being heated in the kitchen, the ladies are busy setting up the table...

while the 'tok panjang'/长桌 (in nyonya language means a feast for guests, with food laying on a long table) being lay out

and while the hostess putting the bouquet from us in a vase and set it on the side table in the garden...

when the guests started to arrive...

the bakpo/yuk kon/肉干 is on the BBQ set and satay waiting for its turn...

the one and only bbq chef of the day is busy with bbq-ing, and suddenly the tok panjang/长桌 is filled with food....

and most of the kampung ladies are drooling while standing beside the table, others already tug in to the food....

bakpo/yuk kon/肉干, almond salad, babi pangang spek/烧肉 (by yohannes), otak-otak, assorted satay, green curry chicken, nyonya bak chang/娘惹肉粽子(by me), bbq spare-ribs, sambal stuffed mackerel

chickpea salad, satay sauce, tiramisu, fruit salad, babi ponteh, ketumpat, ayam kapitan, condiments for nasi lemak, sambal ikan bilis, sausage roils

and what else would i say beside the feast is ready to BEGIN!!!

was.lost.but.found

i have a lot of earrings but it really just down to three pairs that i wear regularly...

i lost one of this pearl earring a few months ago after a gym session. not knowing where i lost it i actually have no hope of finding it. i have been looking around but never find a pair that i really like... but just 2 days ago, i saw it at the backseat of my car under the carpet... i am happy to have it back...

a

another favorite pair from a swedish designer, love the signature e that also the initial of my name

my recent acquisition (well, since december 2009) from istanbul, love this pair too but the color is a little bit difficult to match my clothing's...
anyway, am really pleased that i found my lost one!

a.day.before.summer

this is how the weather looked like a day before the official summer season....
we were at scheveningen beach last sunday (20th june) after the church service, bringing friends to see the hague and ended up at scheveningen...
the sky was cloudy, the wind was blowing and the temperature was probably at the 10-ish celcius...

the sand sculpture at the beach and promenade

all these look so grey because it's a day before summer....
thankfully summer has indeed arrived...

it's.summer.time

officially summer today...

and i always associate poppies with summer

i have been dreaming on seeing a full blossom poppy field somewhere, like the preview that i have seen in giverny in may....

and a clear blue sky with occasionally cotton bud clouds
will this ever happen this summer, considering the weather of the past weeks?
