let's go back to the tale of oslo, this time round in a park that full of sculptures made by the one and only...
a bit touristic but it's still a pleasant visit when combined with blue nordic sky, green pastures and needless to say beautiful sculptures!

alfresco.dining

weather has been reasonable lately.  you feel really blessed to be able to enjoy your garden, eating your dinner alfresco way and eating your harvest from your garden
your spinach has been plentiful and you just harvest some for the potato mesh... unlike your spinach, your radish has been miserably small and the leaves all eaten up by snails...
but still that's enough for dinner
in fact you had been trying only doing your groceries shopping once a week and try to eat up the food you have at home... it works so far in combination from the food in the storage, freezer and fresh produces in the garden....
you had more zucchini blossom weeks ago but you didn't have the time to harvest them, when you do that the other day, there're only 3 blossoms left and the other two have turned into mini zucchini!  you didn't have cheese at home, you just stuffed the blossom with italian anchovies, dip them in egg wash and bread crumb and roast.
feeling blessed to be home, days like these are rare and you will treasure to the fullest.

you went back to office and had your performance appraisal done today.  really it's just a retrospective appraisal as most of the "surprises" already revealed in your payslip.  nevertheless, it's good to be able to meet up with your co-workers and had a team lunch and tea/coffee catch up... your work is very independent and hence it's good to be able to meet your colleagues by face.

prince.de.la.bun.菠.蘿.包

you attempt to create a hong kong classic bun which generally called polo pau (菠蘿包)or pineapple bun.
the making is not difficult since you already have some left over tangzhong (汤种) from yesterday, that a sort of water dough.
the topping for polo pau is also easy to make, just a stab of butter and a few different ingredients which in sort equals to calories bom!
in fact with the leftover tangzhong, you made another four hong kong style sausage rolls, five polo pau and three kaya pau.

his verdict is the pau is 100 percent look alike but taste wise lack of pineapple flavor and a buttery fillings. now that you recalled, perhaps he is looking for polo yau (菠蘿油), an enriched version of polo pau.

all in all it's a good attempt, time consuming and if you are a fan of soft rolls and buns, you will probably make these again but since you're more into european multigrains and hard rolls and bread, you will probably move on and attempt the european version next.

hong.kong.style.sausage.rolls.港.式.肠.仔.包

your are back to your kitchen, may be the vacation is over or the weather is not too warm now to get busy in the kitchen.  really you think it's your workload has fall back to normal.  so you have time in between and here is your first attempt making hong kong style buns...
the recipe said the dough will yield 4 to 6 buns, and you made them into 4 buns, but giant size hong kong sausage roll.  it's bigger than your palm...

you didn't realize that even during the second proofing stage, as the sizes are still normal
by the time you are done with calls and you saw they doubled their size.
so here is your super-size hong kong style sausage rolls. that said, the bun is extremely soft and fluffy.  in fact a tad too soft to your liking. but you achieved the super soft and airy asian style bread...

mr.&.mrs

a wedding that you attended yesterday
 first the holy matrimony
the display in the church, very nice and appropriate. to you this depicts the lamb, not just merely a lamb but the lamb of God, Jesus!
at the end of the service, mr and mrs...
the reception with some snacks and beautiful cupcakes
and a door gift to go...
in the evening, the dinner banquet at a hotel, guests must first take an instant photo, then take the photo to the counter where the photo will be glue to the guest book, and guest will leave the wishes to the couple as well....
 the hall...
another door gift, this time is a pair of korean chopstick....
the buffet is not bad at all, with plenty of choices to choose from, needless to say a tummy happy saturday and certainly a joyous day for the newly wed couple and the family.

saint.bartholoma

approaching the beautiful lady in koningssee. you just love the back drop mountains standing behind the church like protecting her...
you're excited as the boat approaching this place

where the appearance of "lady in red" becomes clearer and clearer, revealing herself in your eyes...
at the jetty, she greeted you with her name
and certainly she glows in the early morning sun, despites this photo is taken using your phone, you still appreciate the glow or rather the ray of sunshine you captured....
in reality she is just a rather petite cathedral with a history. you pay a quick visit but the interior has nothing to shout about.... and you're more attracted by the outdoor and the superb view of the koningssee before the mass tourists arrived later...
so now that you have met the lady, you're going to walk around the area to capture its beauty...
