on.the.way

your last summer trip. you don't know what to expect, as you're too busy and totally swamp by never ending workload in between your previous holiday and this one.  so you didn't do your pre-read well.

 starting with some quick bites in the lounge, it went a little bit to extended when he poured you a glass of cremant.  perhaps it's a little too early for bubbles, but you needed it some how....

 you're upgraded at the gate, so instead of not having anything "edible" during the flight, you're served with this lunch, still nothing elaborated really but edible. you didn't eat much as you already stuffed yourself to the fullest while in the lounge earlier...

but it's a thought that counts, you got upgraded after all.  you never got this treatment while you commute to london every week, but that's perhaps you're not on the same airline but just code sharing... the view outside of the window, distinct blue and white!

 arrived oslo, found your way to your hotel, the first impression is great, a clean city after all, and the underground stations are nicely decorated.

 your hotel apartment, that you booked almost like a month ahead, it's conveniently located in a "amsterdam jordaan" like district... only your room smells like a burnt salmon when you checked-in...

really the hotel makes you feel very at home, but just don't expect hotel like daily service.  but for a short stay like this, you won't care...

it's raining heavily today, so you wonder if you will actually venture out this evening...
