weekend.feast

you were home briefly last weekend, just for two nights.  on saturday you have some guests coming for dinner.  no special occasion, just a dinner.
you cooked the sambal prawn and squid tumis with the pack of sauce that you bought from london. one of the malaysia brands, it's spicy and hit the spot. friend's father from malaysia loves it and even packed the leftover home.
the rest are all the showcase of the chef. his char siew, not as photogenic without the commercial red color but it's appetizing!

soy chicken, it's his mum signature dish, but lately he learned, took over and excel in this chicken, subtle with the soy flavor and other spices, soft and tender.
the steamed fish, not so popular may be because it's place in the middle of the table where it's hard to reach...
the pepper prawns, friend's daughter loves this, a 9 year old girl eating non-stop
stir fried endives with fermented tofu. not so well received by others, perhaps the taste is too cantonese or it's a taste to acquire
pan friend fish.
it's a great evening to chill out at home, at the garden especially as it's still a rather warm and sunny day. it made a fine night to chill outside enjoying the early autumn cool freeze with the natural outdoor air condition.
you're tired but you're relaxed too, groceries shopping in the morning and cooking in the afternoon, keeping yourself busying with something that not related to work.

The pepper prawn dish looked truly delicious! I 'want' that! Your food photos are wonderful! Fit for a magazine, MM.
