Last night after settled in, we checked out the down town Kyoto. We took the subway to Shijo station at the cross junction of Karasuma street. There are endless of shops, shopping malls and eateries. Not the kind of Kyoto I would expected to see on day one but at least we have a quick orientation of the modern side of Kyoto.
This is the sort of games arcade that you could find almost on everywhere in Japan.
Finally I saw something typically Japanese, the lanterns at one of the eateries.
