summer.vacations

now, you finally conclude your summer vacations.  a tale of many cities and a couple of countries.  this is the first year you attempts the road trip extensively and not only city trip but also to the country side, all in all a variety escape

 you just came back from an extended weekend gateway to nordic, oslo

you did nothing much than inhaling in the extremely fresh and crisp norwegian air, imagining you could reach the low hovering puffy clouds with your finger.  boat cruise, fjord, sunbathing under the tiffany blue sky.  you had two good sunny blue days and the other two rainy days...

meantime, just about 8 days before your oslo trip, you ended your germany trip with an overnight stopover at wurzburg, the first city at beginning of germany romantic route. you went there not because you want to explore the romantic route but it's just logistically good to plan for a stopover on your home bound journey

while hiding in the german alps, you made a day trip to salzburg, austria, which was okay but nothing impressed you apart the glimpse of mirabel garden.

otherwise you're sipping your tea at the balcony of a small b&b at schonau am koningssee,  enjoying the lake, the mountain and the hike...

with the outlook of the mountains of bavaria.  this is probably the most relaxing and close to nature experience you've had in europe. let alone the extreme weather that you experience here (another story)

you begin your germany journey with a stopover at nuremberg, a city in franconia.  this is an outlook of the nuremberg city from the castle, you visit the city briefly on your way to koningssee

a day trip to chateau rochepot and visited the winery

admiring hospice de beaune for free...

 an afternoon en-route and stopover at dijon, followed the trail of owl without much success of spotting the owl

an overnight stopover at nancy, on your way to beaune... in mid july...

that said, these are the highlights of your summer vacations. in between the holidays you worked really hard and was stressed and overloaded. the entire workforce in the lowland is on vacation and with the regional responsibility, everything fall onto you.  perhaps you should take extended holiday during summer month next year!

you know summer is soon coming to an end (in lowland anyway), if you're lucky probably still some summer like days ahead of you but you will not expect any warm and perspiring days to come.
