::stendhal::

'the charterhouse of parma' a book written by stendhal a french writer who has never been to parma and although you didn't read this book yourself, many who read it says the portrait of parma is incorrect.
anyhow that's not the point. you stay in the hotel that name after stendhal, although in reality it has nothing to do with stendhal apart from one of his book is based on a story is based here.
 the hotel has quite a bit of history, in a old building and despite of its age, the room is quite pleasant to stay in.  you prefer here more as you can almost assume you're here for vacation instead of work.  the hotel from last week is perhaps a little more comfortable but without character and located next to the train station and distance from the city center. here you're right in the city center where restaurants are at your doorstep, you're not far from anywhere...
 as the member of the hotel chain, you got your free welcome drink. this is a very fragrant white wine produced in the vicinity.
needless to say, it looks a little classier than the normal chain hotel, and you know you will be back to this place next week.
