With Sinterklaas behind us, we are now officially marching towards Christmas. While in London or most countries, the Christmas light and decoration already shining since the end of November, but in the Netherlands, Sinterklaas is traditionally observed and thus no Christmas lights and decoration until Sinterklaas is over. I had a chat with my Dutch colleagues and found out that a typical dutch never receive gifts on Christmas, the kids only received gifts and poem on Sinterklaas.`
This year we decided not to buy any Christmas tree because I think it is not contributing to the green environment. Instead of a real christmas tree, we have a mini bamboo in Christmas tree deco by our shutter window. Last night, we started to put on the Christmas lights and it took us awhile to hang the lights. Now the house is filled with lights and that create a very warm and comfy atmosphere. The scented candle also add a subtle aroma that fill the house.
In the bible it is stated that we should be the salt and light for this world, a light to those who don't know Jesus. May this light shines from our life, shine beyond just the warm, comfy and festive illumination, but above all, may the Light of Jesus in us shine throughout the end of world. May Christmas be the season where Jesus is the ONLY reason.
!!!Shine, Jesus, Shine!!!
