this was how you spent your tuesday whenever you're staying put and not too caught out with week.
that you go to the weekly market at your area early in the morning to replenish the fruits and vegetables. today you got yourselves four new dutch herring for lunch on his request. and these herrings were really good, taste fresh and new even though the first boat of herring on shore was probably in late june.
and at noon, during the lunch break, you sneak to the city center to run some errands and got yourself a cup of iced cappuccino. it's been awhile since you've an iced coffee...
and your ceramic nobs are installed, the old one broken a few weeks ago, though you have not been cooking on stove with wok and pan but you've no lack of food. one thing that you really missed is the chinese soup. so with the ceramic nobs back in action, you whisked up an easy and quick soup - red fermented rice with yellow wine and chicken. a typical foochow dish that you grown up with. it's a tonic soup.
with a kilo of cherries you got from the market, you turned some into cherry clafoutis. your favorite summer dessert and since this is only for the two of you, it's reduced sugar but extra booze.
you could term this as a typical happy summer day, but deep down in your heart, you're mellow and meek especially with the continuous developing news on mh17.
