masterchef.wakaka

the second year return of the masterchef theme gathering for the masterchef wannabes at a friend's place. the rules are simple, basically each of you bring a dish or more in the category of main dish or dessert.

all the guests,adults and kids are given 3 coupons with  a total of 6 points in the form of 1, 2, 3 points to award to the dishes that they liked the best.  you'd the similar system last year.

as you see it wasn't a serious competition but an element of challenge to make each bring a pot/dish kind of gathering more interesting, hence this is not the professional masterchef or amateur masterchef but 'masterchef  wakaka, a trademark by its own.

so here's the main dishes including the food in the bbq pit. and the winner goes to chicken satay.

(1) pulled pork (2)  chinese sausage fried rice (3) BBQ jalan alor chicken wing (4) organic home grown mixed vegetables (5) rojak (tropical fruit salad)

(6) satay sauce (7) nasi impit (8) chicken satay (9) curry (10) chicken curry (11) roti jala (net pancakes)

(12) nasi lemang (glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk) (13) Tom yum fried mee hoon (14) roasted pork bally

now the desserts round...

(1) colorful stained glass konnyaku (2) black sesame bamboo charcoal chiffon cake (3) kuih keria (sweet potatoes donuts)

(4) agar-agar (5) matcha chocolate slice (6) chinese sweet soup (7) wicked chocolate slice

 the winner goes to wicked chocolate slice.

as the weather gets better, the boat service begins, while men and family with young kids went for the first boat.  the not so young anymore kids just enjoy swimming, paddling in the water or on the float.

the women sitting at the terrace and sipping the wine (or champagne?) while enjoying the warm evening without the wind.

you invented a new teaching syllabus of learning A, B, C! It was hilarious!

and the BBQ pit starts again with more satay, wings and German sausage

and leftover from lunch were warmed up and serve at the terrace by the water.

it was a fun filled day despite the not so optimistic weather for a start, you absolutely had a blast even if you didn't win anything this year.
