sakura.afternoon.tea

you have a gathering today with a few friends from your home country in germany, hosted by another lady who is also a food blogger from your home land.  you made this agar-agar (jelly) to bring along.  you created it with an image that you have seen a few months ago. you know is off the season but because the theme is "sakura" afternoon tea, and so you think this would fit the occasion.

a jelly with  mount fuji and cherry blossoms.  it's really simple and easy to compose using almond scented jelly for the flowers, mountain and the snow. rose scented jelly for the pin.
the creation is based on these images that you captured in kawaguchi-ko.

it was spring time, so sakura is still plentiful here around the lake...
and on the good day, fuji-san revealed himself fully to you
and sakura was swaying and dancing as the wind sweep through the lake
it's really a pristine scenery to enjoy, and recreating this image in your mind through agar-agar rekindles your love and prayer for japan once again.

besides the sakura and mount fuji scenery jelly, you also rock and "roll" another matcha green tea swiss roll, with chantilly cream and generous sakura flakes. and thus the cake has a sweet geniose roll and a salty ganache, makes quite a balance...
there are a few more sakura inspired sweets for tea time but you will keep them for the next posts.  why sakura afternoon tea if some of you are wondering?  well, that's because you brought home some sakura related ingredients and you share with some of them. as such the idea for sakura tea time is conceived, each one is inspire to showcase their ideas and talents behind the sakura flowers...

for now, good night and more photos to come in the next few days...
