sarong.party

now you are done with sakura afternoon tea, the sarong party kicks start a few hours later. it's a strong malaysian favored dinner with hot and spicy good stuff.

again actions happening on the long table...
a beef rendang made from scratch by desperate housewife in holland.
another dish from desparate housewife in holland, a simple curry according to her without pounding or chopping yet yields incredible flavors of home... yum!
sambal udang petai tumis, another favorite of yours and it is firing hot, cooked by the host from all about yum.
thai style duck curry with lychee by the host too.
refreshing cucumber pickles (acar) a good balance to all the spicy food...
chicken curry by J all the way from hamburg using the "agak-agak" (roughly without measurement) method yet still well received among the ladies and even a favorite for the men...
gulai nenas sotong (pineapple squid curry), you love the gravy for it reminds you of indian roti canai... and you would have dip your bread in this sauce if you have bread at hand...
fried temper, more an indonesia dish but you love temper so this is great for you...
your none spicy and probably out of the place according to the nasi lemak (coconut rice) theme, but edamame salad makes a good side dish.
 chicken nuggets for the kids
german onion cake with bacon and sour cream for the kids and adults who couldn't take hot stuff
and at one point, your plate is overflow... overflow with malaysia flavors and home cooked food. such a satisfying moment and nostalgic aroma
and the very sweet and young fedeiweisser wine is such a great palate cleaning drink.

you are full, bloating and satisfied! but there is no time to linger longer on the table because almost everyone of you have a two hour journey to drive home.

but there will be always next time. somewhere, some day another gathering will be planned....
