sakura.sarong.party

finally you had your warmest day of the year, around 27c if not higher and you drove some 200km east bound for a sakura, sarong party.

you arrived on time to this lovely double story house, tastefully decorate with a nice balcony upstairs facing the garden
you were served with famous germany curryworst as your light lunch because the heavy afternoon tea is coming your way at a later time..
the kids and men are both hungry and attacking the food, while the ladies take it easy chatting in the kitchen and at the bar table, drinking graciously
meanwhile downstairs at the garden, the long table is set and ready, what you find a little out of place is the flag of your home country under the grape... but it is a true reflection of why you are here, who you all are in one way or another...
and then you all set off for a walk to the arhaus castles and the city center, a troop of some seven kids and twelve adults marching to the castle under the fierce mid noon sun.

it was hot and you are perspiring under the germany's sun but you enjoy walking around the neighborhood

at the ahaus castle, not a big one but pretty enough for a pleasant stroll...

many of them just took shelter under the shade, hiding at the corner and refuse to move. kids are dehydrating too. you hang around here, there's plan to venture further to the park but no one enthusiastic enough to move on, so you return to the house via the city center.

meanwhile, upstairs while preparing the afternoon tea, the host serves us some sekt - germany bubble wine and liquor mix. you had this lovely strawberry raspberry red in the drinks, red on the angku kuih, red on the table cloth... well red all around...
and a photo moment...
and definitely worth a cheer to friendship to celebrate and cherish....
back to downstairs, at the garden....
the men and the kids are hungry (again) but the tea is ready to be served anyway....
the pink sakura and violette cassis macarons, emeraude entrement (yummy) made by the lady of the house. you love the sakura macaron with the savory sakura taste in the ganace and the tarty after taste of emeraude entrement to balance out the sweetness of the afternoon treats...
sakura flavor cookies in a pot, it's too pretty to be eaten. it's definitely a showcase of art work by an artistic but yet desperate housewife in holland. she is desperate for durian mooncake too.
and the nyonya flavors of angku kuih with red bean paste and mung bean, green kuih kosui under the bed of coconut by L
and you had a rather long and elaborated afternoon tea on the long table at the garden. it was really fun afternoon with lots of sweet treats and chow down...
so much for now, to be continue tomorrow...
