lunch.with.a.star

last saturday you had a lunch with a "star", well you mean a michelin star restaurant. it's restaurant week and you managed to get hold of a booking for four people at warmond.  you were terribly late, lost your way and arrived an hour later than scheduled time.

the  appetizer tray - small bites of different flavors, you love the parmesan  puff and the five spice mini tartlette
you were late and hungry but while waiting you all were chatting and musing with the camera...
the little guest on your table, he is well behaved as usual, and showing you his little elephant...

the mock-tail of the house is wonderful that each sip is a different passage of taste...
the amuse bouche - avocado cream in wild puff rice, this was fine for you but nothing extraordinary...

duck breast starter - colorfully done, delicate and delicious
this is a great dish, the mango chutney, the red wine reduction accentuate the flavor of the duck further.... yum ^^

you had a glass of wine since you are not driving, and coincidentally the restaurant serves villa barbi wine from umbria region of italy.  you were talking about this wine with another girlfriend the other night and now you had the chance to try it. the wine was a great match to the main course.
the main course - a plate of pork with lentil and many other small little things, a plateful of flavor explosion.
the main course from a different perspective... the zucchini and the garlic were equally flavorful...

it's so good that you wipe your plate clean...
your dessert,  an interesting combination of blue cheese and pear in the bowl, delicious and not overpowering... but by then you were already full from the previous courses

the interesting and beautiful mandarin tart from your friend, you had a small bite of it, it's great and refreshing but  you are really full by now...

it's getting warm outside and where you were seated became stuffy and warm, and the little boy was eager to get outdoor for some fun, so you skipped the coffee/tea.
