daniel.fast.and.good.friday

if you know about daniel in the bible, you will know that he refused to take the king's order and abstain from the royal food but went on to eat only fruits and vegetables instead.  at the end, daniel and his friends were not affected by the fire in the den at all.

quite interesting, when you desire to do it, God gives you the ability. you have no urge for meat at all for the two weeks.  although the idea is to fast based on fruits and vegetables diet but your body condition requires carbohydrates and thus you do have moderate carbs but no coffee or whatsoever.
it also creates a healthier body condition and the food can be colorful and interesting too depending on your creativity.
spring brings forth ample of colorful fruits and vegetables, so your food has been colorful and bright. you made gado-gado (indonesian veg salad with peanut sauce) you get your protein from soy bean, tofu, tempeh or that sort.
a sort of vegetarian noodle with tempeh and lots of broccoli

green salad with grilled cheese, walnut and honey, heavenly yummy
 strawberry smoothie for breakfast
okonomiyaki, with lots of vegetables and seaweed
and a generous sprinkle of aonori powder
a vegetarian bento box with edamame, natto and smoked tofu...

it's good friday,  romans 5:8 "God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we are still sinners, Christ died for us". you are not religious but you have a personal relationship with God, the experience just tells you that you can do it, as a result of daniel fast, you are healtier, detoxified, perhaps a little lighter and brighter.  what matters most is you are more sensitive to God, you have more joy and many of your little prayers are answered. but nothing can compare to the fact that Jesus died on the cross and suffered your sins.  many people skipping good friday and go straight to easter celebration but you know that if there is no good friday (death of Christ), there's no easter (resurrection of Christ).  so you just want to remember the death of Christ on the cross today before you go ahead with the big celebrate on easter sunday.
