dining in a church

you came here for dinner with your sil and nephew, since they're on the campsite so it's logical to have dinner here in the city center of viareggio

 you opt for the outdoor terrace since it's a warm day, even though the interior is one of the kind (church setting). as much as you like your seafood soup, which came in a huge portion with plenty of seafood, the dishes for others were just alright or small in portion.  you couldn't finish your soup, so your sil who ordered a truffle gnocchi that comes in a very small portion polished off your soup.

after the meal, you took a stroll at the boulevard and this is more the hip and classy area of viareggio.  the shops are still open...

a block behind the shops is actually the viareggio beach, but the access to the beach are all blocked. you walked a long way and still couldn't get access to the beach to catch the sunset.  this is the closest you can get, where you sneak into a gate that still not locked, and have a quick glimpse of the sunset, really in a hurry before you sneak out again.
this is your last night here, tomorrow you will drive further to the inland to the heart of tuscany.
