mid.autumn.festival

mid autumn is round the corner!

it's almost a tradition now that you gather together at a friend's place for mid autumn celebration.  this year is no exception either.
as usual, the spread consists of moon cakes (imported from your home land) and some home made version.
you didn't have much time this year as you spent most of your time on the road either during your vacation or work.  still you're proud of yourself that you manage to make some mooncake biscuits and two types of snow skin mooncakes.  also a chocolate banana cake on the morning itself.
the host has over supply of daun kesum (laksa leaves) so you actually got the chance to enjoy a bowl of penang assam laksa
it's yummydelicious, sour, tangy and spicy hitting the right spots...
and a variety of dishes to feed the hungry adults and kids....
the highlight of the gathering is always the lantern walk, not that the kids really understand the meaning or tradition behind this lantern parade that they made annually walking from friend's place to the park nearby. it doesn't help either when the sky is still rather bright in the evening hours.
you had a bowl of black glutinous rice as dessert and this is really nice after the short walk to the park.
it's a fun afternoon with dry autumn weather, great food and companies.  till next year!
