gâteau.au.chocolat

i woke up late this morning, it was sunny but kind of changing.. while doing some chores in the kitchen, the rain suddenly fall down fiercely, i had to run to shut the door and window quickly to stop the rain splashing to the kitchen and the living room.

perhaps i always associate rain with chocolate, or perhaps chocolate gives me energy during the changing season, or perhaps i am just in the mood of baking again in the weekend...

gâteau au chocolat i made

i first bake 12 gateau au chocolat in cupcake size, and make a small pot of dark chocolate ganache before we left for a interior cum furniture mall nearby to look out for furniture.  we are doing a small project to innovate and redesign the layout of our living room, so we need to do our homework by surveying the furniture and price...

came back, i took the chocolate ganache out from the fridge and at first i tried to pipe it to the cupcake, but the texture doesn't hold and is a little too soft.  i didn't follow the exact measurement when making the ganache, perhaps i use too much cream or too little dark chocolate, so i resort to spreading a thick layer on top of the cupcake
and add a marshmallow on top and a tiny drop of yellow sugar paste to decorate to enhance the color scheme

now i transformed a simple humble gateau au chocolat into an attractive cupcake with dressing.

we have one each for tea with a cup of dark coffee... it's delicious

the cake has a moist texture and crunchy bite of nuts, the bitter chocolate cream neutralizes the sweetness of the cake and give a balance finishing ...

!!bravo gâteau au chocolate!!
