i watched a bbc program "coast" not too long ago talking about the various stones at brittany. i told him i want to see some stones when we are at brittany. however, at where we are, there aren't many stonage to see except this one....
menhir du champ-dolent is the only one nearby us but it is the largest standing stone in the entire france.
the legend says the stone is thrown from the sky and it sinks to the ground every few milimeters each century and when it sinks completely, that the end of the world. but who cares about the legend... just watching the stone itself is already facinating....
this megalistic stone is 9.5 m tall, it is hard to tell from the first two photos, but this one definitely gives you the comparison....
