it's a lovely day today. the dutch called it 'indian summer', as any early autumn day that is warm (enough) and sunny. i woke up in the morning and was in the mood to bake again. i want to try something different, something not green, some thing that give me a summer feeling in an autumn day...
so rose chiffon cake is it!!!
as a result, i created miss rose in her white grown. she is pretty and elegant isn't it? especially under the indian summer beam light!
i am super happy, the chiffon cake rose up nicely. my very fear in chiffon cake is when it doesn't rise. i was worried that i over beat the egg white as it looks deflated but it rises up!! i am over the mood, like the jolly spirit that indian summer has rubbed on me. then the chantilly cream worked out!!! it thicken up and remains stable, so i decorate my pink rose cake with a thin layer of rose scented chantilly cream... then i crush a few dry rose that i bought from istanbul and sprinkle it all over the cake, and topped with a few whole dried roses.
i got this cake stand yesterday from ikea and this is the perfect occasion for the opening ceremony to protect miss rose.
the rose chiffon cake is light and fluffy. the rose scent is just perfect, like an elegant lady. we had it for tea this afternoon, hubby said this is the best cake that i have made so far, even though he thinks the scent is a little too girlie for him.
and finally a slice of pink rose chiffon cake for all my girlfriends as a dedication to the breast cancer awareness october month.
