well, let's say it's a late start and early end (the next day). it took you a lot of courage to drive to the airport to pick him up and then to your final destination.
the restaurant is fully booked, with lots of guests eating and giggling at the teppanyaki table. you ordered a kir royale and enjoying it all night long. you had your choice of sato (beef/meat) menu whilst he opted for nagisa (fish/seafood) menu so that both of you can share and try out each other menu.
he keeps saying this guy is a celebrity on some of the shows, but couldn't state the name. it's not a surprise to bump to people like that but it doesn't really bother you much because you are here for the food and not for the celebrity flame . you were already tired half way through the course, it could be because of the alcohol but the action packed teppanyaki master entertained you well.
your kushiyaki chicken and poultry, the yakitori sauce is a tad too sweet but it works magic if you had some shichimi togarashi added before the bite, that simply transformed the entire palate journey to the outer space... and you no longer complaining that it's sweet...
his scallops and shrimps with some herbs garlic butter....
a palate cleansing lime sorbet to wipe your palate clean, getting you ready for the main course
by now most of the guests already gone, but the chef still working hard to create your master pieces...
by the time the plate is presented to you, you are really full. nevertheless, you still try your very best to sample some quality lamb, venison and us beef, although bulk of them has gone to him...
his assorted daily fish which consists of sole and monk fish, but you hardly touch any of those except the crispy fish skin and the cracker like shrimp head ^^
finally the finale. your seasonal fruit ice cream flambe. it's a right balance of cold and warm, right balance of sweet and citrus from the seasonal fruits., just the right tad of alcohol to hit the spot. it's a late night with a sweet ending. you're glad that you made it, a bit of challenge to stay awake but it's worth the ride and definitely a sweet ending for valentine's night (or rather the next day).
