B.K.T.肉.骨.茶

it's really so so cold, needless to repeat this saying daily. snow and a minus 7 celcius in the day and tonight it will drop to minus fourteen . you feel like doing nothing, hibernating and cocoon at home. wrapping yourself up in the thick duvet and do some reading. just being lazy...

a beautiful mixture of spices. compiled by your brother who once in partnership with a very famous bak kut teh (BKT/肉骨茶) shop in singapore  setting up BKT business in your hometown. he got to know the secret recipe and how to compile it. the business partnership is no longer there but the skill he learned will always be with him, but he honors and respects that this is a secret recipe that he will never use commercially.  although you observed him mixing these spices but in reality you never know the right proportion for each herb, spice and ingredients. it's not your interest to know the secret recipe, all you want were a few packs of these for cold wintry days like now...
bak kut teh boiled with spare ribs, chicken feet, mushroom, whole garlic, goji. the aroma of the soup is so soothing to your soul.
a BKT set meal for one, it is usually eaten with iceberg lettuce. the radish kimchi is your own addition.
a bowl of hot white rice, a spare rib or a mushroom from the bak kut teh, dipping the meat to the chili soy sauce... a total bliss.

nothing beats a bowl of peeping hot bak kut teh on such a cold wintry evening. now your stomach is warm, your mouth got the burning sensation from the chili and the garlic. and you are totally satisfied.
