hello.from.kota.kinabalu

this trip is not a vacation. that you knew from the beginning.  you have been running around to get things done. you had a few rather unpleasant experience dealing with the government and local authorities. they don't care about their work and in fact you felt that you presence are not welcomed at all at the various counters. traffic and parking is a nightmare too in kota kinabalu and traffic congestion is almost throughout the day.

anyhow, within two full days, you manage to run  a lot of errands, meaning that you have been driving to here and there trying to get things done as soon as possible. in a short two days you accomplished a lot of things, but there are things just cannot be done in one single visit, and you didn't want to rush in making decision that you will regret later.
having said that you had a good time with your eldest sister and your eldest nephew and his family. they drove all the way from brunei to meet you.

brunei, a land that is scarce of  pork, your nephew suggested to try the bak kut teh (herbal soup with pork) at a famous shop in the city center.  the shop is full on your arrival.

interestingly this is the first time you ever eat your bak kut teh this way, in small bowls that come with variety of choices
the park meat balls and the intestines are delicious ^^, that you add another portion of each to enjoy...
your saucer is full of garlic and chillies - evidently malaysia too!
you love your grand niece who has a bottomless stomach, she has been eating all day long and still going strong during dinner time. most importantly she has a sense for taste and really know how to enjoy her food.
you enjoy eating with both adults and kids who love food. as kids they are not choosy about food and eat almost everything the adults eat. it's a feast after a good day of "hard labor'.
you are going to miss them.
