dutch.monalisa

finally you decided to first visit the dutch monalisa - the master piece of johan vermeer who painted the girl with a pearl earring.  you live so close to den haag and yet you never set your foot to mauritshuis museum once since you moved here.  it's his second visit too in his entire life here.

you learned about the dutch and flemish painters and admired the works of rembrandt and jan steens in person. you also learned about the interesting facts about still life paintings and realized that most painters actually paint the flowers of all season in one painting which in reality is impossible because tulip is for spring and poppy is for summer for example. but the illustration of everything together is wonderful, amazing piece of arts...
then you walk towards the city center, en-route the binnenhof (the inner court) the sun is about to set...
it's strange to walk around here with your camera, it's like rediscover den haag, stepping on places that you hardly walk by even if you frequent this town so oftenly...a glimpse of middenpoort gate
the fountain and ridderzaal from a distance...
the ridderzaal is now use by the queen for special occasions only.. coming out from binnenhof, cross the street, you are at the grand cafe...
you ordered your fresh mint tea to warm up the cold body, he had his coffee and you went on discussing about the masterpieces that you just seen in the museum.
not long after, your late lunch arrived, your grilled goat cheese salad and his omelet natural. both are great source of energy for you to move on to the next museum in rotterdam.
