bayan.tree.style.lunch

your home alone weekend, you are alone because your honey is still in aisa, currently in the land below the wind to run some errands... you are not alone in another way because you had a bayan tree style lunch hosted by a friend with a few ladies around the area where you live.
you think this is called larbkai, it's a plate of goodies made of minced chicken with chili and many herbs...
 somtam - green papaya salad
somtam mamuang - mango salad
 siam fried mee hoon
 tom yum fried rice
deep fried tofu for the dip
shrimp paste fried chicken cube also for the dip

the secret dipping sauce, made of bunga kantan (torch ginger) and many other asian/thai herbs...
a sort of tropical drink made of lemon grass, pandan leave and syrup...
the bayan tree style lunch, just for the four of you
tom yum seafood soup boiling, fresh shrimps and squid added to the broth
your bowl of seafood tom yum. in fact so perfect for the dutch autumn weather like today... grey, rainy
red rubby, made by another friend

your contribution of the day, the patisserie standard tart from jerreau,  they are rich with complex flavors, you're still intrigue by the peppery after taste that lingers in your mouth after you bite the black spot, which you suppose  is liquorice but then again you wasn't sure.

set that aside, it's a very bayan tree style lunch. only the weather is grooming, rainy and autumny. but you have the tropical sunshine in your hearts, your heart is warm due to the chili and spices! thank you for the yummy food and sunshine in a home alone weekend!
