dutch.herring.french.pot.dish

you are home. finally you feel good being back home, most importantly your honey is going to be back tomorrow, then the home will be complete.

you touched down in rotterdam, drove to the city library to borrow two travel guides.  then walked over to the saturdary local markets, where you bought 3 herrings  yes! you missed herring somehow. if there's any dutch food that you fancied it's probably herring and the dutch pea soup.  something perfect for weather like this but you're not sure if you are going to make a pot in the first place looking at your schedule where you will spend more time in london than in lowland.
returning home, you have your quick late lunch. 3 haring and the diced onion.

simple. natural. no bread, nothing to add to the fish.  just so divine and satisfied.

you cooked today, a french one pot dish with a fancy name porc à la moutarde & aux poires. in simple english mustard pork and pear dish. this is a recipe shared by a friend who lives in france.  you're probably the last one who try out the recipe but the feedback is overwhelmed so far.  it's best to cook in a heavy dutch oven, but you could do with it with something in between, not the lightest pot but a medium weight braising pot.
your dinner for one.  you just whisked up a portion of spaghetti and topped it with porc à la moutarde & aux poires. it's yummy!  only you need to get use to the little sweetness in a savory dish. the sweetness of pear comes naturally but not overwhelmed.
a perfect autumn meal. simple. easy, a good use of autumn produce.

have a blessed weekend, everyone!
