it's hard to imagine the dutch summer soaring to 30+ celcius. it's just the beginning of july and I was unable to sleep for a few nights consecutively due to the warm temperature at night. even the fan (which usually sufficient for the past few summers) doesn't help only blowing hot air. we got portable one air-condition unit yesterday. it is not super cool like the normal split unit but at least it makes the indoor temperature more pleasant. I love the european summer but not when it reaches thirty something on a consecutive days without a sign of cooling down. my perfect summer temperature is actually 25 celcius but the world we live in is never ideal...with the severe winter we had last year, the summer would be worst too, now that the world climate has become extreme and unpredictable.
an air-con is definitely a relief for me these days...
