b.o.k.e.h

okay. you are playing with your new lens, your newly acquired 50mm prime lens with f.18.
you are looking through a new lens and discover the whole world of possibilities.
now that you have a little bit of time to look at your own result, the images you made last week, you sit here and wonder "hmm"...
is too much bokeh a good thing? or it is just a matter of personal preference? or it is depending on the object and background that you are shooting you should determine your f factor?
anyway, here are some photo taken with the prime lens that you have to walk forward or backward to zoom in or out.  and this lens is fun for food photography or any object that relatively small...

you kinda like the effect of this red japanese momoji leaves
young baby leaves - new life
japanese iris...hmm this photo may be better if the background is not entirely blur out
 same for this one
and this one for that matter... bokeh is a make or break thing... lesson learnt
this is okay as the object stands out quite nicely against the blurry background
i like this the most so far, a bunch of sakura at kiyomisu garden - the last blossom in the city
this would be better if the background is sharper to complement the foreground
so your conclusion is too much of bokeh is not always good and f1.8 is definitely not giving you the result that you desire.  so you will consciously increase the f factor next time.

on another note, you are stressed when the management of the apartment suddenly changed their mind of not allowing you to deposit your luggage for seven weeks.  you were stressed out, most friends who are willing to help either live too far away from you or too small a place to put a luggage.  you commit it to the Lord and today you have two colleagues willing to lend a helping hand and both has an apartment nearby you.  it is a relief that things work out, even tonight as you walk back the reception said it "may be" possible for you to store your luggage depending on the size of the suitcase.  you now have to think which one is the better option. you are done with the your trip planning too, at least the first three weeks.
