5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake

Woke up in the morning and inspired by a blog entry about 5 minute chocolate mud cake and decided to give it a try. This is really a 5 minute and it is not from the pre-fab mix. It is made with fresh ingredients. And yes, it takes only 5 minute, 2 minute to mix the ingredient and 3 minute in the microwave high 900W although the recipe says 1000w.

1 large mug (I used Ikea large mug)

4 Tbsp. flour

4 Tbsp. sugar (I used only 2 tbsp)

2 Tbsp. cocoa

1 large egg

3 Tbsp. milk

3 Tbsp. oil (I used only 2 tbsp)

1/4 cup chocolate chips (plus some extra for sprinkling on top when it comes out of the microwave) – I used Cote d’Or dark chocolate

Vanilla extract

1. Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well.

2. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

3. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.

4. Add the 1/4 cup of chocolate chips and vanilla extract, and mix again.

5. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake may rise above the mug, depending on the size of the mug you use, but it is ok.

6. Allow to cool a little, and then dig in!

I only finished half of it as breakfast and the other half with vanilla ice cream as my dessert after lunch….

what an indulgence but still a mug is rather big portion for me.

Try it, it's simple, easy and taste delicious!!
