Greetings from Tokyo

Greetings from Edo/Tokyo!! or rather to be exact greetings from Asakusa (浅草). The journey was smooth and we found our apartment in Asakusa easily without much problem. it's a fine day, sunny, warm and with temperature close to 30C, thankfully there is enough wind to cool down the heat. We spent the whole afternoon exploring Asakusa area. An area that pretty much still retains the old Edo atmosphere....

On our way to Senjoji, we crossed the Sumida river....

Many people dressed in kimono or yukata today. It happens to be the exact date of Tanabata Matsuri (Star festival/七夕). Japenese share the same legend as Chinese on this festive celebration.

Another couple in the yukata (summer version of kimono)

That's all for now, more to come...
