a.g.e.l.i.n.a

yes, a hot date with angelina. not jolie.

you arrived at around 1.30pm and there's already a queue but not too long. while waiting you eye keep focusing on the pastries on display at the take away counter. they are pretty, and you got to make up your mind what to try later.
the merchandised of angelina including the famous chocolate in a bottle, so if you gave up the line now, you can still have a taste of the heavenly chocolate from the merchandised but you are not going to settle for second best. so you wait and wait in the line.
the line moves slowly, you waited for some 30 minutes to be seated and it's now your time to watch the line from the second floor.  frankly speaking the line never get any shorter, only longer.
as a solo diner, you are being seated at a corner, that didn't bother you much because you have good visibility on the action in the cafe and people watching while browsing the magazine you took from your hotel.
you had croquette monsieur as your light lunch as you want to save your stomach for something else. for the real reason of your visit to cafe angelina. the croquette monsieur has a very fragrant gruyere cheese aroma and not overly oily. so it's good.
you ordered a saint honore as your dessert.
isn't it pretty? the house specialty is mont blanc but you dislike meringue and you know angelina's mont blanc is with a meringue so you forgo that one. and you are absolutely happy with your saint honore.

and of course the most famous and to die for hot chocolate l' african, it is served with a small bowl of cream.
the hot chocolate is just a pure indulgence. it's so thick, so aromatic, what a sinful indulgence. you called it sinful because you know too much of cocoa is not good to your health yet you took pleasure in enjoying it.

saint honore is yummy delicious. the mini cream puff has a layer of caramel sauce, the bottom layer you can tell what is it made of but the combination gave you a different texture and bites. the chantilly cream is light and not overpowering.  perfect. really perfect.
this is just how thick the l'african hot chocolate is, as you can see from the line of stain on the jar.  this is the best hot chocolate you had ever tasted.  you won't mind coming back for another treat the next time you are in town. it's been a long time since you last enjoy such an overly lovely, heavenly, satisfying and perfect afternoon treat. the satisfaction and sensation is far way beyond the london laduree or dutch cafe chocolate experience.

bravo angelina, not jolie but l'african hot chocolate.
