spicy.hunan.cuisine

one of the thing you love about business trip is you are able to catch up with friends in different cities.
between chic and up coming brick lane and the old school chinatown, you opt for the later because she swore the food is divine and worth sampling.  so chinatown you go...

the interior is very hip and with president mao as the theme decoration.  it's just like many of the restaurants that you visited in may in beijing. a chinese restaurant with modern twist and this one is serving hunan cuisine. hunan cuisine is like szechuan cuisine, hot, spicy, oily, chili base but yet the two cuisines are distinctly different.
this pound aubergine (擂茄子)is sooooooo so good.  seriously divine that you started to decompose the ingredients and hopefully you will find some time to pound up a version of this at home.
剁椒鱼片 literally chopped chili fish fillet, you could taste the authentic-y because you ate this dish many times in china.  the taste, the chili, the spice, the amount of oil determine this dish, the only thing that you wish for is instead of fish fillet the real stuff comes with a big fish head....
yes, this is super hot fish... the noodle taste so heavenly after a good "baptism" in the chili based sauce. your friend, JH asked for a spoon so that she could scoop the sauce and drink them...
another dish, tiger prawns steamed with chili but a sour based pickled chili. love this dish to bits too!
there are many dishes you want to order but know that only only two of you would not take in any more dish. so save it for next trip.
thank you JH for introducing ba shan restaurant, it's not cheap but really value for money and worth every penny when your love for hot and spicy food is found here, right at london, in chinatown.
