14/22 勝興車站

until today you still couldn't understand why this abandoned train station is such a famous tourist destination. you read in some of the taiwanese blog and everyone seem to pay shengxing railway station a visit whenever they're in sanyi.

you know it's an abandoned train station but you thought it has more to offer than just the tracks and station.  may be it has to do with the overall impression, this place is too aggressive, you have to pay for the parking and as you walk towards the station, the sales assistant will run quickly towards you and luring you to purchase their merchandised.
you stopped by to fill your stomach it's hot and humid and your stomach needed food, so you settle on this hakka restaurant just opposite the station.
the restaurant has customers and didn't look like a tourist spot, so you settled in and order your food
a plate of hakka fried pan tiao (rice flat noodles), hakka steamed chicken with citrus dipping sauce and a local grown veg. the dishes aren't too bad and it fulfilled its purpose of satisfying the hunger
this place would be a little more charming if it's not too touristic. or perhaps you're comparing it to the tainan charm which you didn't get here at sanyi.  it certainly has a lot of japanese elements and traces still visible today.  anyway, you didn't stay too long and left shortly after your lunch.

you decided to cover 龍騰斷橋 (long sheng broken bridge) since it's just within the proximity. and as you suspect that it's probably just a broken bridge so you didn't park your car but quickly take the above picture.  it's built in japanese era and was destroyed in an earthquake.  you haven't feel so unaccomplished as a traveler for awhile. this place is so touristic that it put you totally off completely. well it happened sometime as a result of mass tourism.
