today is one of the rare day that you can leave the office just before 8pm. things are ramping down, your days are numbered at the project. you wonder if you can let go and bid farewell without being emotional when the day comes. you start to make plans, planning for holiday is never easy but you have to start somehow before it is too late. there are so many places you want to visit but there are just not enough vacation days to cover them all.
sakura season is officially over in tokyo. but there are still plenty of cherry blossom that you want to share before your memories fade away... you still haven't got the time to sit still and reflect on the sakura and you are already into a new "season".
on one of the fine sunny cloudless afternoon, you went out for a lunch hour walk and cherry blossom viewing at chiyoda-ku. at the same ward where your client is located.
chidorigafuchi (千鳥ヶ淵) is located just at the other side of imperial palace, about 30 minute walk away. but the view is rewarding...
although there are plenty of salary men and office lady munching their bento under the cherry blossom you manage to take a shot with solitude. the walk under the sakura cloud itself is such an amazing feeling.
let along when two different types of sakura meets up, the weeping pink and the cloudy white. it's like a perfect match...
and the yellow contrasting the white is a pleasant view to your eyes too.
you basically walked around the imperial palace in order to get back to your office, at one stage the path is quite deserted, you have the whole path way for yourself, even that is a wonderful experience. not a soul, not a car, all by yourself.
you took a short cut at some point, turning into the public places of the imperial palace park, through the gate, last glimpse of the cherry trees from a distance through the holes of the metal gate and you said goodbye knowing that the next time if you have the chance to stand on the same spot, in a few days, weeks, months or even in a year, this view will never be the same again.
that's something special about sakura.
