old.habits.die.hard

with the recent crisis on the nuclear plant and the tepco blackout plan and of course the campaign on setsuden (節電) is still going on strong...

in the meantime you were at shibuya last weekend and here's how it looks like...

the crossing junction is still ever busy, with interchange of car traffic and human traffic.
shibuya is still a place to hang out after night
shops are getting brighter and brighter as day goes by, how would they ever learn the lesson?

the tv screen for commercial is back on again, although not at the main crossing of shibuya but the smaller tv screens are back on actions...
and the whole shop floors are brighten up as well...

old habits die hard, you wonder if tokyo will ever learn to conserve electricity.  you are a "kampung" girl who grew up not exactly in a village but where you grew up you constantly had electricity failure, and you sustained the night by candle light, sometime just merely by the moon light or the stars in the sky. a total bliss plus many mosquitoe's bites.  here in tokyo, although there are some actions in making tokyo a greener place to live but right here in shibuya, you still get way too much lights, neon lights and unnecessary lights in shibuya.  you understand it is good for the economy but given the situation, perhaps people should reconsider the change of lifestyle?
