you came here for your waffle lunch. yes, that's how pathetic you are, swapping a proper lunch for a belgium waffle experience. you ordered the strawberry cream waffle while he opt for the humble and simple chocolate version.
it's still too cold to sit at the terrace, so you sit inside as everybody... and opt for a window seat. you can imagine how wonderful it would be if the weather is a little warmer and that you can enjoy your waffle under the sun. but it's not going to happen today.
meantime you find the interior rather american style. the wooden horse in the center of the restaurant dining area
a retro lamp shade with marie siska waffle mould (you realized this much later)...
the cream and strawberries were served before the arrival of the waffle.
it didn't come in the thick brussels waffle, but it came in Marie siska's style waffle.
the waffle is good, but you couldn't tell or taste the specialty that marie siska is famous for. it's not something exceptionally special, to you this is just a decent waffle, perhaps a waffle house with more than 100 years history. perhaps it's the environment and the ambiance in combination of the waffle that make it special.
