dinner.for.one

johannes is not back yet, so i decided to dish up my dinner the japanese way which i have not done for awhile, although technically these are no japanese food...
we have a red cabbage sitting in the fridge for awhile and no one know what to do with it. i know the western recipe that usually cooked with apple and cinnamon but those ingredients are so winter... well, even red cabbage is rather wintry for me.. anyway, i do it the asian's way sauteed the sliced cabbage with dried shrimps. then the tonic chicken cooked with sesame oil, soy sauce and lots of rice wine, ginger and scented with basil leave. i needed the warmth of ginger for my stomach that just been through the hysterescopy...
then the soup with carrot and dried watercress, i still having some persistent cough at night since my usa trip, hopefully this soup will clear up my throat.

one good thing about dishing up in this manner is one will never over eat as the portion of the food is set...
