wake up, only to know that an even thinker blanket of snow welcome me. {warnings: if you are tired of me mentioning snow, stop reading now as only more snows will be mentioned here.}
this is my point of view. the pile of snow only getting thicker at the roof of our storage. the frozen ice strips are visible at the lamp post just in front of my study room. our garden is white. white and my poor roses are carrying the heavy burden. loads of snow on their branches...
while he busy shoving the snow from the front door and pathway and then shoving the snow from both our cars, start the car engine and trying to drive, the cars don't even move, stuck in the snow. and at our area, the city council didn't sent any one to clean up the road.
meanwhile, at the kitchen, i am making this... a bundt cake, some called it pound cake and the dutch called it tulband cake. whatever it is called, it has fresh ginger, candied ginger, walnut, lemon zest in it...
and then he suggests to go out to build a snow man. with his encouragement, i put on my ski suit and heavy duty shoes, and off we go for a walk and for some fresh air...
the bike at our neighbour didn't move since yesterday, the snow piles up higher on the bicycle seat though... and the pedestrian is full of snow...
we walk a little further to an open field, the cold air refreshes me, and i beginning to feel the sense of excitement in me. i took big step and let the snow came up to my ankle
and i almost want to go on the ground to make a snow angel, or gather the snow to build a snow man but i decided to behave myself by limiting to a pose for photo here.
and we walk further. there is almost no one on the streets, if there are people, they are those walking the dog(s). i look left and right, and am intringue by the patch of unspoilt snow with just some footsteps on it. and a giant snow man has been built by a neighbour some distance away. and before we realized, we are back at our doorstep again.
back indoor. i just quickly poach the skinny hema worst in warm water and heat up the soup. a simple but heavy lunch. we had dutch pea soup again but this time is not homemade, i just picked up a fresh jar at the supermarket yesterday and also a skinny hema worst to add to it.
we both were hungry, a short walk in the snow is tiring and energy consuming, so some tortilla wraps with cheese and basil leave filling. simple but heavy, an energy rescue.
it looks like i have done a lot of things, but in reality it is a sunday consists of nothing, yes i feel the emptiness in my spirit, i miss the fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ. i miss the praise and worship. such sunday is rare to us. but today, we are stranded, and compare to many other people, we are thankful because we are
stranded at home.
