edinburgh.festival

you did think of visiting scotland during edinburgh festival but you never thought that you are actually here right now in the midst of the edinburgh festival 2011 happening.

this trip was never planned but it happens just because you are here for business. what a coincident.

you thought you will have a stressful and busy schedule at work but it turned out to be rather smooth and easy (praise the Lord for that), and the team called it a day at about 5pm. that leaves you a lot of time to check out the city besides checking in to your serviced apartment in the city center.

a short walk from your apartment you are in the center of the happening, at the royal mile where the festival is hot and the crowds are merry... the weather is perfect too at the 18c, with ample of sunshine and intermittent gray clouds and no rain.

it seems that the whole world come to edinburgh to enjoy this festival. but people are really well behaved and thus strolling among the crowds is actually quite a pleasant experience.

plenty of street performance to stop and watch and be entertained. the performances are rather international too.

there are street performances cater for kids too... you actually thought the lady in white is miranda hobbes, the character in the sex and the city.

you almost stand in the line for the edinburgh military tattoo show, but you told yourself you are here for business and tomorrow is another working day. the tattoo show starts at 9pm and you are hungry and there is no guarantee you can get the ticket by the time you are at the counter.

you need to figure out how to watch the free indoor performance, perhaps all it takes is to stand in the line early enough to get your admission. you will ask your colleague tomorrow. 

for now, your feet are tired and you feel really blessed for the opportunity to witness to some malaysian students on your flight to edinburgh and the fact that you got to enjoy all these for free.

and certainly you are ready to call it a night soaking in edinburgh festive spirit.
