just as i get use to hot meal for lunch in the financial district of tokyo...
mostly in the underground restaurants or cafes like the ramen shop, pay by vending machine and the food got deliver to you
or at times i just buy a bento else where in the convenient store for a budget one like the beef don (500 yen) and bring it to the 14th floor of the next building where client's canteen is located and sit at the window and enjoy a quiet meal by myself

other days i went out with a few non japanese ladies from my client's side, for a little luxury sit down meal (a little over 1000 yen). while waiting for the food being serve, we share some small talks.
on some days when i cooked a little extra a night before, i will make my own bento and bring it to work...
yes, i am becoming more japanese each day, as i understand their culture, their belief system and values. bringing home made bento is one big thing for most of the married men and each lunch hour is about showcasing what is in the bento. although in reality, not every happily married man bring a bento to work.
now i am back to the lowland, the diet is change drastically...
from hot to cold meal lunch. even if i am working from home, i just follow the dutch lunch diet. some dutch cheese, cold meat, bread on a bed of green.
today i went back to the office and as i spoke with few of my colleagues about japan, tokyo, earthquake and the fact that i am going back to tokyo when i got the approval from our global risk management team, i realize how much courage i have in talking about God freely and the impact He has for me in my life through the recent experience in tokyo.
