cap.tachimachi.立.待.岬

you took a long walk up hill and you walk to the end of the northern kingdom.
the mid afternoon weather is perfect for a walk and the scenery along the way is rather unique too.
you touch the konbu (dried sea kelp), you know understand that konbu is sun dried...
and then you spot some wooden horses at a house, very primitive but simple and original, a good use of unwanted logs to create some fun for kids...
you walk past a cemetery, but you were not afraid for psalm 23 is always engraved in your heart " yea though i walk through the valley of the shadow of dead, i will fear no evil, for You are with me, Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me"...
and before you know, you are at cap tachimachi (立待岬), the very tip of hakodate...
and a superb sea view awaits you. it was windy, you almost blown away by the wind. the sea, the cliff and the outlook from town to here again is unbeatable.
the best thing now is a hot onsen bath at he onsen at yachigashira (谷地頭温泉) public hot spring (420yen) for a brown mineral water soak, which you did . the outdoor rotenburo is particularly memorable with sakura tree next to you. a sakura hanami while soaking in hot bath of 45C. the steam is escaping and while you let your body take in the heat, relaxes your swollen feet and your tired body, at that very moment.... nothing you could ask for more.

and this is how the northern kingdom should be. nature. seafood. onsen.
