the.year.of.breakthrough

another year has passed, a new year has come. you are well rested and ready for the new year ^^.

at the new year sunday celebration service, your pastor reveals the meaning of the theme of the year. the year of breakthrough.

taken from 1 chronicles 14:8-17. it talks about the divine anointing from God that brings forth the following aspect in every believer's life:

• courage to face the enemies (verse 8)
• desire to be with the Lord in prayer (verse 10)
• strength to breakthrough (verse 11)
• ideas (verse 14)
• spiritual sensitivity (verse 15)
• faithfulness to the Lord (verse 16)
• promotion (verse 17)

you woke up early on new year's morning, eager to try the new toy you got from malaysia, the roti jala dripper (lace pancake). after mixing the flour and everything according to instruction, for some reason the batter is not runny enough to drip through the jala dripper. so instead of the pretty lacy turmeric fragrant pancake to go with your leftover chicken curry, you ended up with the normal turmeric pancakes. the taste is still the same but minus the light, lacy and elegant look.  

apparently you missed the most important step to sieve the flour and turmeric powder twice before mixing them up with the rest of the ingredients.  the batter is not runny to flow through even you strained the batter after mixing. so a failure on cooking the first day of the year in the kitchen but that didn't put you off, you are going to get your roti jala to perfection in no time.
