monday.paris

greetings from paris! tonight you try to get to two different restaurants in paris, but they are both closed on monday.  perhaps monday is just not the right day to dine out in paris but you got to eat anyway. you're a little disappointed because you didn't get to a particular restaurant that you really want to try before it gets a michelin star. it's a up and coming star restaurant.  as for the second restaurant, you arrived to find out that it's not open on monday.  you didn't want to walk into any restaurant  and thankfully your spanish colleague remembered this place.
a typical french chalk board with the menu.  this is really a common scene in france... there is no english menu (checked), the staff doesn't speak english (checked), the place is only filled with local parisians (checked), the prices of the wine and food is very friendly (checked). all in all, you know you are not in a tourist restaurant.
you ordered this baked egg with foie gras, the foie gras arrived half melted in the bowl and this is a mind blowing dish... although you fail big time in controlling your cholesterol intake.
the combination of half boiled egg and foie gras and the toasted bread just hit the right taste bud... it's a very yummy starter....
you main course, a leg of lamb with mashed potato and green, the lamb is soft, moist and full of flavors.... you just couldn't find any fault on this dish...
your italian and spain colleagues.... together with you is another colleague from uk, four of you make a good company of night out to the city.
and this is a really petite, intimate parisian restaurant and literally just able to host a handful of tables. you walked in without reservation at around 8pm and were accepted, ten minute later, the whole place is full, lively and vibrant with laughter's, chats and mingle with the aroma of the food.

although this is not your first or second choice of restaurant, plus the fact that monday is not a right day to dine in paris.  but still the parisian elements made the dining experience a very yummy and pleasant one ^^.
