last.night.in.paris

back to the last night in paris where you are obliged to join the team dinner, organized by a brit. if you knew his choice of restaurant is based on accept group booking and in the city center based on the tripadvisor you would have suggested the alternative. it took you so long to get to the city center with the train and a change to metro and a long walk.
the restaurant is located in the city center nearby to notre dame and along the seine river. you arrived to an empty restaurant where the 10 of you are the only patrons of the night under a group reservation.
all you know is you tasted 5 different bottles of red wine before you are even served with starter and in total 10 of you had 10 bottles of red wine.... that's really the highlight compare to the food.
your starter, escargot - half a dozen cooked in oil and herbs...  nothing spectacular. it's just ordinary....
your main, which according to the owner is the house specialty of young baby calf's cheek cooked in a pot....
and frankly speaking, you couldn't taste the meat for it's so soft, creamy and fat and tender but it's just not meat, more of foie gras texture than meat. on the contrary, the other house specialty duck in prune sauce which you manage to sample from your colleague is great. right combination of earthiness and sweetness.
the night view as you see it from the taxi.  it's late and no one wants to go back with public transport, so a taxi ride with such view is a pleasure. the big wheel at de place de la concorde, leading to avenue champs-elysées, arc de triomphe and the modern arch of la defense and you are out of the edge of the paris city heading to your hotel.
