Catch of the Day - Grevelingendam

After Yerseke, we set off to the other island in Zeeland in search for oysters. Since the low tide is at 3:30pm, we have to leave Yerseke in time otherwise we will miss the window. The journey to the next island took awhile with traffic congestion for no reason and we finally arrived at 4:30pm which still leave us some time to pick up oysters...

Scenery on the way - typical high summer view with clear sky
Passed by a beach area
Grevelingendam - low tide

Searching for oysters

While I enjoying the optimum sunset - love the color of the sky at that moment and also the warm breeze

Catch of the day
4 buckets of oysters plus 2 bags full, they come in different sizes and some of them are really big and fatty

One of the jewels - so BIG and fresh....

Half of the smaller ones turned into this dish
The other half turns into Oyster omelet - based on the recipe of my mother, an adapted Thai style that uses fish sauce

My signature dish - end product

Feasting on the catch of the day....
